Welcome to the Arkansas Early Childhood AssociationThe Arkansas Early Childhood Association (AECA) is a non-profit organization of early childhood professionals and parents who share a common concern about the well-being of young children and their families. For more than 40 years, the Association has worked for quality early care and education for the children of Arkansas. AECA is affiliated with the Southern Early Childhood Association (SECA), a 13 state regional organization, to expand professional growth opportunities, publications, and public policy support for its members. AECA Conference Program Chair PositionThe AECA Executive Board is looking for an individual to serve as our next conference program chair. The program chair position is a three-year commitment.

Working Committees: Addressing the Organization of Local AffiliatesAECA is looking closely at the current structure of the organization, specifically the way in which our local affiliates are structured. Many (not all) of our local affiliates are struggling and/or inactive. The AECA Executive Board plans to work on making changes to better the organization so we are meeting the needs of our members. We want to hear from our members! We want you to have a voice, so please make plans to join a committee and share with us your ideas to strengthen our organization. The two working committees are listed below along with the contact information for the chair. Please contact the committee chair to join these working committees and help us make progress to better meet the needs of our association.
Bylaws/Constitution - This committee will determine how
changes would be made and how our state is currently divided
into local affiliates. They will also be looking at the roles of
our current Members-at-Large Functions of Regions - Determine the
functions, minimum requirements and activities of each
affiliate/region. For additional
information, contact Barbara Gilkey, AECA President at
